SASV is a system that provides high speed weigh-in-motion (from 30 to 140 Km/h) of vehicles with the purpose of detecting overloaded trucks. SASV uses 2 piezoelectric sensors and 1 electromagnetic loop per lane of traffic. A video camera records the overloaded vehicle and captures its registration plate. The system transmits this image, along with all the data related to the vehicle, to a computer on a site where the trucks pre-selected by SASV can be weighed precisely.
As well as this, SASV supplies full information about all the vehicles on the road or motorway (up to 2x4 lanes).
